GLENROCK – To complete the trifecta of Bulldog Homecoming competitions against the Herders (volleyball, football, and cross country), last Friday the Wheatland High School cross-country teams traveled to Glenrock.
The cross-country course began at Glenrock High School, a change from years past when it was held on the rolling hills of the golf course. The WHS coaching staff was pleased with the team and how hard they competed. Coach Colt Goff commented on the cross-country meet candidly, “Well we took a page from Coach Matt Hazen’s book and all kids had a fruit snack before the race! We had great improvements in our times, [and are] waiting for official time[s], but Gavin May was only seconds away from breaking the school record.”
On the girls’ side, the Bulldogs were paced by Raelynn Goff with a second-place finish at a time of 21:25.19. In sixth place was Hannah Lee with a time of 23:00.86 and Kaelyn Wessel placed ninth at 24:06.94.
For the boys, Gavin May had a great performance with a time of 18:49.45 and placed fifth. Justin Cecil ran the course in 19:49.87 for eighth place and right behind him in ninth place was Tylen Foland with a time of 19:55.36. Aiden Megeath ran a time of 22:42.17 for 22nd place and Teddy Sarad crossed at 29th with a time of 24:14.98. Brady Donnelly came in at 34th with a time of 31:05.95.
