Rodney Warren Rogers

Rodney was born in Strasberg, Colorado on April 20, 1946, to Ronald Paul Rogers and Arva Isabel Metz.  He attended Wheatland High School.  He served two years in the US Army including one in Vietnam.

Rod worked as a lineman all throughout the western US.  He then went to Prudhoe Bay and Bethel, Alaska and then traveled back to Montana finishing his lineman career in Oregon.

Rod married Jackie Head in Casper on February 6 , 1988.  Rodney’s passions were hunting and rodeo.  He completed the North America Sheep Grand Slam in 1982.  In 1983, he won the WRA Bareback Championship.  In 1984 he won the WRA All-Around Cowboy in bareback and bull riding, adding to his many accomplishments.

Rodney always had a smile on his face and never said a harsh word about anyone.

He was proceeded in death by his mother and father; sister, Birdie; half-brother, Cordy Rassmussen; and half brother, Larry Collins.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie; Jackie’s daughter, Nikki Knox; granddaughter, Jenna Kurzyniec; grandson, Randy Wright; daughter, Angie Hannibal; granddaughter, Shantra Hannibal; grandson, Brodie Hannibal; step-son, Kim Knox; and step-son, Jim Crotts.

Although Rodney wasn’t their biological father or grandfather, he was their Dad and Grandpa in their hearts.

He will be missed.
