Dorothy Diane Barthel, 55, passed away November 23, 2023, in a house fire.
Dorothy was born April 20, 1968 to Patty Klier (Barthel) in Cheyenne. She attended school in Cheyenne and graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1986. She started her working life as a CNA after getting her initial license in South Dakota, then later moved back to Wyoming and then Montana, working as a CNA until health problems caused her to end her working career. She moved to Scobey and then lived with the George and Deanne Klier. Dorothy and Deanne were close friends and Deanne helped her with her medical concerns until her passing.
She enjoyed painting, coloring and her animals that provided her so much comfort and peace. She apparently went back into the burning home to retrieve her beloved dog, Cuddle who was pulled out of the house and lives with George and Dea Klier.
She is survived by her biological mother, Patty Klier of Wheatland, brother Jack (Terri) Wilson of Florida, George and Deanne Klier, and Lori Harris of Scobey, Montana were also considered her family who loved her dearly; extended family Jared (April) Klier, Fredrick (Sam) Klier of Wheatland, Guy Harris, Jeanne Harris, and Kristin Salisbury of Casper, and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy will be greatly missed. She now resides with her Savior. Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time. A private service will be held later with the family.
