Gary E. Byers passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 24, 2024, in Melbourne Florida at the age of 85. Gary was born in McMinnville Oregon on August 1, 1939, and worked his entire life in the gasoline industry, moving to Wheatland in 1971. There he owned and operated several businesses in addition to the small family farm until his retirement in 2015. Gary and LeVay subsequently relocated to Florida in 2021, where he received exceptional and loving care at Autumn House in Melbourne until the time of his death. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a loving husband and father.
Gary is survived by his wife of 59 years LeVay Byers, his sister Noreen Roth, his daughter Dael (Neil) Bennett and his son Jay (Carmelia) Byers, and grandchildren Cole Bennett, Lucas Bennett, Sean Bennett, Kendall Byers, Katelynn Byers and Michaela Byers. He is pre-deceased by his parents, two brothers, a brother-in-law and his son Jebidiah.
Cremation has taken place, and per his request no services will be held. The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to Autumn House and St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care for making Gary’s last years the very best they could be.
