WHEATLAND – The Platte County Record-Times would like to recognize former student athletes that are currently competing at the collegiate level. This week, the College Corner features Danielle Brow, a 2020 Wheatland High School graduate competing at the NCAA Division I level for Weber State in the sport of Track and Field. She is majoring in the field of Botany.
Brow was a multi-sport standout for WHS, earning all-state in cross country and basketball. She also competed in outdoor track and field. Brow began her college athletic career at the College of Southern Idaho, where she competed for two years. In 2022, she transitioned to the Division I level. At Weber State, Brow will be competing in the 5K, 10K, Steeplechase, and the mile. Last year her best finish was in the 5K, setting a personal record of 16:50.
Brow loves competing at the collegiate level and stated she loves her teammates and the opportunity to improve her performance. Her advice for high school athletes is to have fun and worry less in high school sports! Danielle said one of her favorite memories about high school was coming home after winning FFA Nationals and being welcomed by a bunch of awesome people.
I can personally say coaching Dani was a highlight of my career. She had “it:” that undeniable will to win. She always wants to be the best version of herself to not only improve but to be the one you can always depend on. I am extremely grateful I had the opportunity to coach her, it truly was a blessing.
Good luck Danielle, we are rooting for you!
