CHEYENNE – Long-distance runners of Wheatland High School headed to Cheyenne for the Wyoming Invitational Cross Country Meet held on Friday at the Little America golf course.
The season opener proved to be hot and slightly windy, however it didn’t stop our WHS athletes from doing their best. The gals were led by Raelyn Goff, a freshman competing in the varsity division, who crossed the finish line in 67th at 22:35.96. She was followed by Kaelyn Wessel, placing 152nd at 26:28.85 and Hannha Lee in 160th at 27:08.61. Taylor Gudahl, also a freshman, finished in 164th at 27:45.08.
All four Lady Bulldogs competed in the varsity division which had 172 runners in the field. For the boys’ side in the varsity division with 218 competitors, freshmen Tylen Foland placed 167th with a time of 21:09.58 and sophomore Justin Cecil crossed at 176th with a time of 21:18.03.
