GLENDO – The 24th annual Glendo Thomas Memorial Airport fly-in was a soaring hit with several families and individuals who attended the two-day event, in spite of some early morning fog on Saturday. There were 12 planes participating from the tri-state area, competing in flour drop and balloon busting contests, and a toy drop on Sunday.
Not to be left out, there were some RC airplane clubs on-site, demonstrating their skill at flying from the ground via remote control.
“It was a beautiful day and there were quite a few events [both days],” acting Glendo town clerk, Kelsey Crabtree, said.
The annual event is held the weekend after Labor Day, so mark your calendars for next year.
