A funeral service for Sharon Louise Hashman, 69, was held at 2:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at the Lake Guernsey VFW Post 4471 in Guernsey with Pastor Casey Schroeder officiating.  Interment was held at the Prairie Rest Cemetery near Guernsey.
Sharon Hashman passed away Sunday, Feb. 16 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne surrounded by her family.
Sharon was born in Langdon, N.D. on Wednesday, June 14, 1950 the daughter and third child of eight to James Edwin “Jim” and Joyce Mae (Vollum) Giles. She grew up in Boulder, Colo. and attended Fairview High School.  She loved to vacation with her family to North Dakota.
Sharon married Lee Hashman in December of 1969. Lee and Sharon started their family in 1970 and had two children, Scott and Christina. Sharon loved traveling the country from one construction job to the next with Lee and the family.
Finally settling in Guernsey in 1982, she loved the tight-knit community and always felt safe and at home. Sharon’s leisure time was taken up with bowling, outdoor activities, and she especially loved following the kids with their sports activities. Later in life, Sharon made a career of cooking and enjoyed serving others.
Sharon leaves behind a husband of 50 years, Lee Hashman of Guernsey; two children, Christina (David) Clark of Douglas, Scott Hashman of Guernsey; siblings, Linda Taylor of Thornton, Colo., Cindy Dawson of Broomfield, Colo., Vickie (Mike) Kleyla of Murray, Neb., Gary (Maria) Giles of Bethlehem, Penn., Sandy (Tom) Zieske of Louisville, Colo., Larry (Katie) Giles of Erie, Colo.; brother-in-law, Gene (Barb) Hashman of Moorcroft; sister-in-law, Kay (Jerry) Munger of Wheatland; grandchildren, Dustin Vanderpool of Laramie, Sheldon Clark of Laramie, Dylan Hashman of Torrington, Haley Hashman of Torrington; great grandchild, Hudson of Laramie, and a host, of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Joyce; an older sister, Carol; her best friend and sister-in-law, Kathy; niece, Brandy; and mother and father-in-law, Ida Maydene and Pete Hashman.
Serving as pallbearers were Mike Montgomery, Bobby Taylor, Dan Hoffer, and Dan McCabe.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Scott Hashman, Sheldon Clark, Dylan Hashman, and Cathy McCabe.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland were in charge of the arrangements.
