Ruth Iris Goodrich, of Pinedale, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018, at the Sublette Center in Pinedale. Ruth was born July 9, 1930, in Wheatland to Gordon C. and Margaret H. Wilson. Ruth had one brother, James (Donna) Wilson, of Glendo.
Ruth was born into Wyoming pioneer families and dearly loved the close-knit ties formed through the bond of the ranching communities in Platte County. Ruth attended school in Glendo, graduating valedictorian with the class of 1947. She attended the University of Wyoming until marrying Neil Chauncey Goodrich in 1949.
Ruth always loved hiking with her friends and hiking clubs she belonged to. Her hikes took her to the top of Laramie Peak and to the Phantom Ranch in the bottom of the Grand Canyon at age 65. As she aged she still enjoyed hiking and talking.
Ruth is survived by her brother James (Donna) Wilson; sons Charles (Cyd) Goodrich, of Pinedale, and Ron (Becky) Goodrich, of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; grandchildren Andrea (James) Rogers, of Filer, Idaho, Lisa (Ben) Carter, of Pinedale, , Chauncey (Angela) Goodrich, of Pinedale, and Callie (Jake) Drury, of Steamboat Springs; and great-grandchildren Clancy Rogers, Emma Rogers, Lexie Goodrich, Braiden Carter, Bele Rogers, Samuel Rogers, Grant Carter, Candice Goodrich, Logan Drury and Lincoln Drury.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Margaret Wilson.
Ruth knew Jesus as her savior. In her final days she demonstrated to her family that the delivering grace of God is a reality. Grace, in the person, work, life, death and resurrection of Jesus made a difference. We praise God for his affirmation and perfect timing.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Glendo.
