Funeral services for Ruth Evelyn Lock, 95, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Wheatland, Wyoming with Pastor Jeremy Haroldson and Pastor David Kennedy officiating.  Interment will be at the Wheatland Cemetery.  A lunch will follow the graveside services at the Impact Ministry Church, 956 Maple Street, Wheatland, Wyoming.
God’s faithful servant, Ruth Lock, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, March 16, 2018.
Ruth was born July 5, 1922 in Pueblo, Colorado the daughter of William Theodore and Lucy Johnson (Williams) Grout. In a family of eight children, she was the fifth and the oldest of four girls.  She was raised in Penrose and Florence, Colorado.
At a young age, she fell in love with Luther Lock, and they were married on July 16, 1938. Together they worked side by side as they operated a custom harvesting company that traveled from Texas to Canada every May through September.
Eventually they became established in Wheatland, Wyoming when they opened Lock Trucking in 1957.
Ruth was the proud mother to six children Delbert, Wilbert, Elbert (who all died at infancy), Sharon, Shirley and Norman.
With dedication, she lived her life devoted to Jesus Christ, and Ruth eagerly opened her home for Bible studies and prayer meetings. Emitting love and grace, she visited friends and family that were sick or in the nursing home. Time spent with her children and grandchildren brought her great joy.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Sharon (David) Oman and Shirley Keil; daughter-in-law, Jean Lock, all of Wheatland; two sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Snook of Wheatland and Barbara McDonald of Niwot, Colorado; nine grandchildren, Matt (Amber), Mark (Vicki), Luke (Tonya), and Jon (Molly) Keil, Sharilyn (Enoch) Edgerle, Karalyn (David) Kennedy, Lori (Jeremy) Haroldson, Brook (KC) Murphy, and Josh (Shaina) Lock; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephew and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther on February 17, 1985; four sons, Norman, Delbert, Wilbert, and Albert; four brothers, Paul, Donald, Art and Harold; one sister, Dorothy; and son-in-law, Rick Keil.
A viewing will be held at Gorman Funeral Home of Wheatland on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
A memorial to the Impact Church, P.O. Box 278, Wheatland, Wyoming 82201 would be appreciated by the family.
