A Celebration of Life service will be held for Laura Jean Lawson, 49, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Davis Property, 198 Washington Road, Wheatland.
Laura Lawson died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020 at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland.
She was born Saturday, Feb. 13, 1971 in Piqua, Ohio the daughter of Roy Gene and Carol J. (Derksen) Lawson. The family moved to Wheatland in 1973, where she was raised and educated. She joined the Job Corps in Montana, and received her culinary degree while living in Anaconda, Mont. She was married to Charles Ames at the Memorial Baptist Church in Wheatland in 1989.  She worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) at the Platte County Memorial Nursing Home and in the home health care industry.
Laura enjoyed crocheting, coloring, word searches, dogs, and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her mother, Carol Davis, of Wheatland; children, Jamie Ames of Wheatland, Jessie Lawson of Keizer, Ore., and Autumn Lawson of Wheatland; sister, Angie Alexander of Wheatland; granddaughter, Harper Ames, of Wheatland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Laura was preceded in death by her father, Roy Lawson and step father, Gene Davis.  
A memorial to the Laura J. Lawson Memorial Fund in care of the First State Bank, P.O. Box 39, Wheatland, WY 82201 would be appreciated to the family.
