Helen (Eichler) Gilbert

Helen (Eichler) Gilbert, 90, passed away peacefully on Dec. 14  at Davis Hospice Center with her loving family by her side.  Helen was born to William and Elizabeth (Lofing) Eichler on Dec. 1, 1928 in Wheatland.
 She was a homemaker and retired from the State of Wyoming where she worked as a secretary for several years. Helen was a member of the Moose, American Legion and VFW Lodges.  Her hobbies included playing pinnacle with her sisters, playing jam sessions with her bass guitar and singing with family and friends. She loved spending time with her large loving family, dancing to polka music and “short snorts” of black velvet.
 Helen is survived by two daughters, Diana (Ray) Martin of Carpenter and Sharon (Tony) Scott of Cheyenne, six grandchildren (Tammie Lemaster, Denise Wilcoxson, Shelley Lucero, Kevin Salas, Amy Zitek and Michael Kay), sixteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years Lyle Gilbert, one son William, one great-grandson Vincent Lucero, Jr., one son-in-law Ray Martin, three brothers Victor, William and John, eight sisters Mary (John) Dinges, Elizabeth Henry) Geringer, Emma (Paul) Frihauf, Esther (Ben) Lockman, Emma and Molly Eichler, Molly (Walt) Lockman and Leona (Lloyd) Gilbert.
 Cremation has taken place.  Condolences may be sent via the website of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes, Cheyenne, WY or mailed to PO Box 13, Cheyenne, WY 82003.  At the request of the deceased, there will be no services.  A celebration of life TBD.
