A graveside service for Clair F. Kirk, 83, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at the Pringle Cemetery near Pringle, South Dakota.  
Clair Kirk passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, at the Central Wyoming Hospice House in Casper.
Clair was born Thursday, April 18, 1935, in Hot Springs, South Dakota, the son of Thomas Peter and Dora Margerite (Gorsuch) Kirk.
He was raised and educated in Pringle and Custer, South Dakota. He graduated from Custer High School. After graduation he attended the School of Mines in Rapid City, South Dakota.
He married Cora Marie Boggs in Pringle.  Clair served in the United States Army from March 29, 1957, to March 28, 1960, at Fort Bliss, Texas.  
Clair worked at Lime Kilm Plant for Black Hills Lime Kilm Company in Pringle. They moved to Laramie in 1962, spent four years in Cheyenne, and finally made their home in Wheatland in 1969, where he worked for AT&T for 30-plus years.
Clair developed seven patents, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved to weld.
He is survived by his children Tammy (Joe) Geringer and Andrew (Sherry) Kirk, all of Wheatland; sister Charon (Lowell) Contryman, of Buffalo Gap, South Dakota; brother Fred (Shirley) Kirk, of Edgemont, South Dakota; grandchildren Joe A. (Andrea) Geringer Jr., of Guernsey, Amy E. (Chad) Berg, of Rawlins, Sabrina Stevenson, of Seattle, Washington, Tiffanie Stevenson, of Glendo, Derek Stevenson, of Fort Benning, Georgia, and Ashli Stevenson, of Rock Springs; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Marie Kirk, on Sept. 12, 2016, and brother Tim Kirk.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Berg, Joe Geringer Jr., Art Kirk, Tom Contryman and Alan Burton.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Billy Burton, Kyle Burton, Jack Kirk, Floyd Gorsuch and Larry Gorsuch.
A memorial to the Central Wyoming Hospice House, 319 S. Wilson St., Casper, WY 82601 or to the Pringle Fire Hall would be appreciated by the family.
