Beverly Jean Werkele

Beverly Jean Werkele, 79, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, at her home in Wheatland of a short illness.
Beverly Werkele was born Feb. 20, 1939 in Wheatland the daughter of Leo K. and Ella (Parsons) Williams.
Beverly was reared and educated in Wheatland and graduated high school in 1957.  Following high school, she went the University of Wyoming and studied general education.  She met Fred Werkele while working at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland.  They were married Jan. 1, 1960.  Fred was called to duty shortly after and they moved to Denver, Colo. where their first son was born. They moved to Fort Riley, Kansas where their second son was born, where they resided for ten months.  They returned to Wheatland for a short time, before heading to Lakewood, Colo. where they resided 50 years. Their third child, a daughter, was born in Colorado.
Beverly worked as an insurance agent for Royal Neighbor Insurance Company and then worked as a Real Estate Agent.  
Some of her hobbies included crafting, sewing outfits for square dancing, and gardening. She and Fred enjoyed square dancing and ballroom dancing for many years. She was a wonderful painter, painting traditional oil paintings.  She was apart of the Wheatland and Goshen County Art Guild.  She helped with some of the murals around Wheatland.  She was a wonderful pianist and played at many churches.  
She is survived by her husband, Fred Werkele of Wheatland; sons, Bret Werkele and Shau Werkele of Wheatland; siblings, Alan D. Williams of Fountain, Colo. and Iva Wilson of Sydney, Neb.; three granddaughters; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Crystal Vostrejs in 2004.
As her request there will be no services held for Beverly at this time.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
