Barbara Jean (Wright) Singer passed from this life March 19, 2018, at age 80. She was born in Wheatland to Clifford (Joe) and Dorothy (Snook) Wright on Nov. 3, 1937.
Barbara was a student at WHS. She lived in Greeley Colorado for a few years where she attended the University of Northern Colorado. After that she moved to Eugene, Oregon, where she lived and was married to Keith for 35 years. Upon her ailing health in 2013, she then moved to Arizona with her daughter until she passed.
She worked at the Sacred Heart Hospital as an intake clerk in the emergency room in Eugene for 35 years .Barbara loved spinning and gathered her own wool. She cleaned it and then took the raw fiber and spun it into yarn. She made caps for babies and children at the hospitals. After retirement she owned her own business, The wondering Ewe and knitted and crocheted scarfs, sweaters, hats and sold them at the craft fairs. She also loved any kind of fishing, camping and canning, as well as teaching spinning classes at the University of Oregon. She had a love for her little pet dog Sadie Sue.
Barbara is survived by four children: Sandy, Darla, Dennis and Dee Ann; six grandchildren: Bethony, Melissa, Brittany, Darrell, Tonya and Dustin; 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Zella Slagle (John) and Carrie Hobbs (Larry). She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; her father and mother; one son, Eddie; one baby sister and one brother, Wayne.
