The Lord welcomed a kind, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend into his home on Thursday, July 18, 2024, with the death of Lloyd H. Koerwitz.  He was born on Thursday, September 23, 1926, the son of William Gerhardt Christian Koerwitz and Helen Marie (Warnholz) Koerwitz, in Deshler, Nebraska. 
Through the years his education included eight years at Lutheran parochial school in Deshler, followed by high school, barber college, and a single engine pilots license.
He was a paper delivery boy, bottle milk deliverer, shipyard worker in California at the beginning of World War II, cement finisher, Farmers Insurance Agent, and worked as a Rural Mail Carrier in Lingle and Wheatland.  He barbered in Torrington and eventually owned his own barber shops in Lingle and Wheatland.  In retirement he delivered meals on wheels in Wheatland.  He was also proud of his membership in the Laramie Peak VFW Post 3558 and the Ora Call American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard of Wheatland for many years!
He served in World War II during the occupation of Germany.  During the Korean War he mobilized to active duty with the Wyoming Army Nation Guard 141st Tank Battalion as a member of service company in Wheatland.  After mobilization he and several others from the 141st Battalion were sent to Korea as replacements.  He served in the Korean War as a Truck Master in the 89th tank battalion from September 1951 to June 1952.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; infant twin brother; three sisters; an infant daughter; and wife of 71 years, Maxine (Kissel) Koerwitz on June 29, 2019.
He is survived by his sons, Burce (Deborah) of Cheyenne, David (Beverly) of Thermopolis, and Wayne (Pammie) of The Villages, Florida; daughter, Laurie Toye (Pete) of Riverton; twelve grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Covenant Lutheran Church in Wheatland, with Pastor Joshua Bruns officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Wheatland Cemetery.
