Lady 'Dawgs fall to Bison

WHEATLAND – What started out as an evenly matched contest for almost three quarters, the visiting Buffalo Bison seemed unable to miss a shot, while the hoop seamed all but sealed for the Bulldogs.

In spite of rough play and many turnovers on both sides, the Bulldogs kept an even pace with their opponent, shooting and rebounding well in the first half.

The second half opened up with the Bison scoring several times unanswered, which created an ever-growing gap between them and the Bulldogs.

By the time the fourth quarter opened, the Bison had captured a dominant lead. Coach Coplen lit a fire under her athletes, and they played tough, and started to get in a groove of shooting, but couldn’t quite close the gap, and were not able to gain a lead.

The final buzzer was a heartbreak after an intense game, and the Bulldogs lost 38-56.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were Lily Anderson with 15 points and six rebounds, Lily Nichols with eight points and five rebounds, Kacey Otero with seven points and four rebounds, Karly Jones with three points from the arc and five rebounds, Laynie Goertz with three and Ella Keil added two points. Ella Keil was named Sportsman of the Game.
