TORRINGTON – Wheatland High School wrestlers headed to Torrington for 3A East Regional competition over the weekend and came away with some wins.
Cooper Meyer and Waylon Milnes placed third in their weight classes at Regionals. Meyer has a 25-17 record and scored 16 team points. Milnes scored 20 team points and has a 27-12 record. Kael Gudahl is 19-14 and scored 13 team points for fourth place; Mauriccio Grimaldo is 14-12 and scored 11 points for fourth; and Tyrell Weber placed fourth with 11 team points and a 15-18 record. Elijah Morgan (4-16) placed fifth, Gabe Hagen (14-15) placed sixth and Lorenzo Rojo (8-18) placed sixth, Austin Brennan (6-17) and George Kontour (5-17) placed seventh and Colby Milnes (8-22) placed eighth.
For the girls, Ariel Kumelos took the lead at Regionals with 26 team points and placed first in her class. She has a 26-2 record. Jessie Grave has a solid 12-12 record and grabbed a fourth-place Regionals win and contributed 11 points to the team. Audrey Davis has a 9-13 record, scored six points and placed seventh at Regionals.
The team will head to the Casper Events Center on Friday for the state competition.
