LUSK – Cyndee Fortick powered the Chugwater Lady Buffaloes to an 11th-place finish Saturday in the Dennis Zowada Invitational in Lusk.
Fortick’s best finish came in the long jump, where she cleared 13 feet, 4 inches to take seventh. She also clocked a time of 15.41 seconds in the 100-meter dash to take 14th.
Glenda Heckel competed in the discus on Saturday, but was unable to lay down a qualifying throw.
Chugwater finished with two points in the girls team standings to finish 11th. Pine Bluffs walk away with the team crown with 127 points. Burns, with 118.5 points, and Lusk, with 106 points, rounded out the top-three teams.
Chugwater returns to action Friday for the Wiseman Invitational in Torrington. The Buffaloes return to action for the regional invite in Torrington (May 11-12) and the state tournament in Casper (May 17-19).
