Jayne Cox Bailey

Jayne Cox Bailey of Mission Viejo, Calif. died April 16 at the age of 95.
Born in Youngstown, Ohio on Feb. 27, 1924, she lived in Mercer, Penn. on the farm  until they moved to Windsor, Colo. and then to Wheatland. The family, Charles  Bittner Cox, Fannie Lanore Cox, (parents) Reba (sister) and Jayne, farmed until Fannie’s death in  1942. Jayne attended Wheatland High School, class of 1944, and worked for the Golden Rule.
She married James Bailey in 1945. They moved to Torrington, then Denver (1958) and finally California in 1968. They had two sons (Jim and Jerry) and two daughters (Janet and Joyce).  
Throughout her life she volunteered, was an excellent cook, and was a wonderful mother. She sold crystal and china at May Company department store. In 2006, James passed away and in 2013 she moved to Mission Viejo to be closer to her daughters and where she could receive more care. She is survived by her four children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Wheatland Cemetery. There is a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 14.
