WHEATLAND – The National Day of Prayer is a traditional gathering that was created in 1952 by Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.

It is held the first Thursday of May as spring comes to America and hope blossoms for a peaceful year and a safe passage for the United States of America. As we look around in 2023, more now than ever is this gathering welcomed with open arms.

The observance will be held this year in Wheatland at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church located at 1001 Ninth Street. The services will be in two sessions. The first being from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and the second session from 6:30-8 p.m.

Scott Smith will be speaking in the evening service and will most like begin his remarks at approximately 7 p.m.
