GLENDO – Glendo Days is celebrated every year right on main street, where many people gathered for the parade and the other events that followed.  

 “We have it every year,” Mayor Susan Juschka said. “It’s a thank you to the community, not just the town but the surrounding neighbors, everyone who lives here, farmers, ranchers and people out at the marina.”

Different events took place such as a dunk tank, face painting, sidewalk chalk, kid’s games, buggy rides and hot dog eating contests right after the parade. 

The hot dog eating contest had 3 age categories. The first category was ages 3-9, the next one up was ages 10-17. The final category was adults or 18 and older. 

Nearly four contestants competed in each category. The winners of the category aged 3-9 was First place J.J. Lake who ate four hot dogs. Second place was Charlie Johnson and third was Elliana Oreto. 

The winners for ages 10-17 were: first place Kashys Hoffman, who ate six hot dogs; second place was Landynn Jones Lacey; third place was David Lockman. 

For the adults category, the winners were: first place Jared Lesley, who ate 15 hot dogs; second place was Misty Jones Lacey.  

Lunch was provided by the town. Following lunch was a horseshoe tournament at the park, corn hole tournament on main street and later that night they had a Street Dance put on by the Old Western Saloon.
