A cheerful holiday shopping season

WHEATLAND — Nine downtown businesses participated in the annual Sip n’ Shop event offering extended hours, food and beverage samples, and significant shopping discounts on Thursday, November 9. Shoppers were also given an opportunity to win door prizes which included a charbroil smoker, 70” screen Skyworth® TV, Olivelle® Olive Sampler Set, and more.

Thrifty Foods on 10th Street offered seasonal food sample from some of their favorite Wyoming-based vendors, special giveaways and exclusive in-store specials. Meanwhile, Trudy’s Treasures joined the fun by offering a 25% discount throughout the store and the opportunity for a lucky shopper to win a Smart Keurig®.

Nearby, Stitches & Ink served cookies and drinks while also offering special discounts for the event and featured an in-store pop-up shop by Platte County Crafter.

Candid Photography by Candace opened up her studio to give people a chance to have a fun studio photo taken after enjoying treats. Photos were taken with the participant’s mobile device(s) as they posed on one of two settings inside the studio; a rustic autumn barn setting and a glam new-year’s-eve style backdrop complete with gold and silver confetti.

Around the corner, the Wild Whisk shared samples of their holiday appetizers and provided a quaint stop for shoppers to sit and visit during the festivities. Their new neighbors, The Print Shop displayed the door prizes and invited customers to learn more about their promotional printing services, web development, custom vinyl graphics, and so much more.

Next door, Drube Home unveiled their newly transformed olive and vinegar bar with infused oils and balsamic vinegars on tap by Olivelle®. Demonstrations and samples were enjoyed by a continuous influx of shoppers of every age. QDL was on hand and provided a wine tasting along with a gourmet cheese and salami sample board also provided by Drube Home.

Across the street, Wheatland High School carolers serenaded along the street where Simply Creative and The Wanderer on Gilchrist were lit up with holiday lights and décor. Shoppers enjoyed hot cider and special discounts as they perused books, toys, apparel, and boutique items throughout the Wanderer’s cozy space.

Simply Creative revealed a Christmas camping motif during the window reveal and featured a “fire pit” outside for snuggling up and making s’mores, as well as special in-store offers.
