Wheatland Town Council postpones fire apparatus sale

WHEATLAND — The Wheatland Town Council postponed a decision on selling a fire apparatus during its regular meeting Monday.
Chief Chuck Williams told the council that with its new ladder truck, which has a bigger pump, the Wheatland Volunteer Fire Department doesn’t have a need for pumper No. 4.
Council delayed the decision pending more information.
Council members had some questions as to whether the town could have a higher ISO rating if it hangs on to pumper No. 4.
Williams also mentioned the Wheatland VFD has a new assistant  chief, Willie Dagelman. Bailey Rupp, the previous assistant chief, moved.


In other business, the Wheatland Town Council:
Approved Ordinance 817, rezoning of Lot B Willis Subdivision, on third reading.
Approved Ordinance 818, regarding construction waste and debris, on second reading.
Appointed Mayor Joe Fabian as the town’s voting delegate at the Wyoming Association of Municipalities.
Approved a permit for Spencer Condie to sell fireworks.
Approved a permit for the Wheatland VFD to sell fireworks, which funds the city fireworks show and other VFD Foundation activities.
Approved a subdivision for Richard and Norma Marker to split a 6-acre lot into three 2-acre pieces.
Wheatland Town Council has a special meeting at 7 p.m. next Tuesday to approve the town budget.
The council’s next regular meeting is July 9 at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall Chambers on the corner of 16th and Water streets.
