County road superintendent to retire this year

County Road and Bridge Superintendent Jim Lockman is retiring this year, according to minutes from the regular Platte County Board of Commissioners meeting held Feb. 6.
Lockman told the commission his last day with the county will be April 6.
In other discussion, commissioners heard from Jordan Ham and Tom Overstreet, who reviewed the scope of work to provide information technology service and relocate the county’s IT department to a temporary location in case of a courthouse renovation.
In other business, the Platte County Commission:

▪ Approved payment of vouchers totaling $991,253.73.
▪ Canceled taxes for Proscaff & Energy Services LLC in the amount of $312.04 due to there being no personal property, employment service only; for Bacon & Bacon LP in the amount of $48.26 due the property being sold; and for West Winds Cycles for tax year 2015 in the amount of $27.03 and tax year 2017 in the amount of $11.48 due to the business closing.
▪ Approved a building certificate from Jeremy Haroldson.
▪ Designated Platte Valley Bank and First State Bank as depositories for county funds up to 90 percent of the security furnished by each bank. Applications for deposit of public funds have been filed in the county clerk’s office.
▪ Accepted the audit report presented by Leo Riley & Company at the previous meeting.
▪ Approved the salary contribution agreement between the county and the University of Wyoming for the 4-H Youth Development Program in the amount of $9,042.
▪ Signed a letter of support for Peak Wellness Center.
▪ Approved purchase of a John Deere 524K2 loader from Honnen Equipment for $146,700, with the trade of the county’s current 544 loader for $25,000, for a price of $121,700.
