Wheatland represented in Wyoming Track & Field Classic

CASPER—Four of Wheatland’s top track competitors represented the Dawgs at the Wyoming Track and Field Classic this past Friday in Casper. Track athletes from all classes across Wyoming gathered at Harry Geldien Stadium at Kelly Walsh High School for this year’s annual meet. 

In the girls competition, Lily Nichols had an outstanding day, placing second in the Long Jump with a mark of 17-05.25 and a fourth place finish in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 58.22.  Cheyenne East’s Tallish Morris won the Long Jump with a distance of 10-07.25 and Lainey Berryhill of Laramie placed first in the 400 with a time of 56.3. 

Desirae Iacovetto also put Wheatland in the books with a second place finish in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 12.61.  Brooklyn Asmus of Torrington broke the barrier just a breath ahead to win the event, clocking 12.4.   

In the boys’ events, Ethan Jackson placed fourth in the Pole Vault, clearing 13-00.  Maddie Blazovich of Rock Springs took home first, clearing the bar at 15-06.  

Tyler Bohnen clocked a 22.89 in the 200 Meter Dash to place fourth.  Natrona County’s Carson Lundberg finished first with a time of 22.09.
