CHADRON, NEBRASKA – Halle Smith of Wheatland will be graduating Summa with a Bachelor of Arts degree during Chadron State Colleges’ Spring Commencement ceremony in the Chicoine Center on Saturday at 10 a.m.

The event honoring 274 undergraduates and 80 graduates will be live-streamed. The opening moment of reflection will be given by Austin Alexander of Newell, South Dakota, who will also receive her commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. The closing moment of reflection will be given by Kinsey Smith of Windsor, Colorado.

Chadron State College, which was founded in 1911, is the only four-year, regionally accredited college in the western half of Nebraska. As a public institution with its roots in teacher education, Chadron State takes pride in its accessibility and affordability. More than 2,000 undergraduate, graduate and online students currently attend Chadron State.
