WHEATLAND — The new year came in timidly as we have not seen snow, let alone snow plows as we typically do this time of year. The lack of snow fall, however, allows the Platte County Road & Bridge crew to handle needed road repairs, address vehicle maintenance, and finish up life-cycle estimations for equipment. According to Road & Bridge department head Chris Bookout, he is establishing a 10-year plan for maintenance and replacement of county vehicles.

WHEATLAND — Congresswoman Harriet Hageman visited the bi-weekly Platte County Commissioner’s meeting on Tuesday after a long absence from Wyoming, stating she had not visited the state since January 2023. “It is wonderful to be back in Wyoming; things have been interesting in Washington, D.C. and congress, and I am so honored to represent the state of Wyoming and the interests of all the citizens here,” she said. “I wanted to share with you some of my most important priorities in protecting our oil, gas, and coal resources and protecting ranchers’ grazing rights in small communities.”
