WHS Old Grads gathering soon

Posted

WHEATLAND — Save the date! The 67th annual WHS Old Grads reunion will be held June 21 and 22. The reunion will welcome all classes from 1939-1984.

The Old Grad Committee has been working hard to bring a fun weekend of reconnecting and rekindling old friendships with classmates.

There are some changes to note for this year’s events. As of last year, there is a cover charge for the Friday (June 21) night mixer, which is in addition to the price for the catered luncheon and business meeting which will be held on Saturday (June 22). Costs for everything are skyrocketing with each year and the cover charge will help offset these increasing costs. However, if you are an Old Grad of the Class of 1964 or prior, you are dubbed a Golden Bulldog and have the privilege of attending both weekend events for $35. It is important that everyone who wants to attend, can. Our roots are worthy of celebration.

We hope you can attend this year! We all look forward to seeing you at the Agriplex on June 21. We promise a lot of fun, and you won’t want to miss it.

Many generous donations from individuals have enabled the Old Grads Board to award eleven $1000 scholarships to WHS graduating seniors over the past six years. These scholarships are an excellent connection between WHS Old grads and current high school students. Continued support of this educational endeavor is encouraged.

Additionally, for another year, many local businesses have graciously placed paid advertisements in the Old Grads Round-Up. These advertisements help defray printing and mailing costs of the Round-Up Annual. Also, take a moment to keep an eye on the Honor Roll at both of this year’s events as we are grateful and count on donations to keep the WHS Old Grads event alive and thriving in the future.

The WHS Old Grads Supplement and Round-Up will be going out the week of April 17.
