WHEATLAND – The Wheatland Bulldogs traveled to Rawlins on Friday and then hosted Moorcroft for their last regular season match at home. Both matches ended in three-set victories for the Lady Bulldogs.
On Friday, Wheatland defeated Rawlins 25-21, 25-18, 25-16.
Leading stats on Friday were Kacey Otero with nine kills and 16 digs; Gavrielle Dawson with four kills and 13 digs; Anna Matthews with five kills and three blocks; Lily Nichols with seven kills, three blocks, eight assists and five digs; Laynie Goertz with 11 digs; and Camryn Mickelsen with 18 assists.
On Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Moorcroft 25-18, 25-12, 25-18.
Saturday action results were Mickelsen with 12 assists and nine digs; Dawson with eight kills and 18 digs; Matthews with four kills; Nichols with four kills and nine assists; Ella Keil with nine digs; Goertz with 14 kills; and Kacey Otero with five kills and 16 digs; and Desirae Iacovetto with three kills.
Saturday celebrated senior night with the following seniors: Otero, Goertz, Jaycilou Ciz, Paige Fredericks, Matthews and Nichols.
The Lady Bulldogs look to punch their ticket to the state tournament this weekend at the 3A East Regional Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27-28 in Moorcroft.
