Wyoming State Fair unfolds

DOUGLAS — Wyoming’s 106th State Fair & Rodeo commenced last Friday and continues through Sunday at the Converse County Fairgrounds in Douglas.
In addition to livestock, arts and crafts, and rodeo events, the state fair features a carnival open at 11 a.m. every day through Saturday. The Crabtree Carnival issues daily wristbands for unlimited rides for $30, or a mega pass to ride every day of the fair for $50. Wednesday is Youth Wristband Day, with daily wristbands $20 for youth. Tri-State G&T is sponsoring 100 free youth carnival wristbands Wednesday. Youth can obtain the free wristbands at the Tri-State G&T booth on the midway Wednesday. The carnival is open until 11 p.m. each night except Saturday, when it remains open until midnight. For more information about the carnival, visit www.crabtreeamusements.net.
Stock Contractors Triple V Rodeo Company produces the rodeo events. PRCA rodeos are Wednesday and Friday starting at 7 p.m. each night. Friday will include the crowning of Miss Rodeo Wyoming. Keri Sheffield, Miss Rodeo America, is also at the state fair all week.
Friday features the Wyoming State Finals Ranch Rodeo starting at 1 p.m. The ranch rodeo events are based around everyday ranching chores.
