GLENDO — The posters honoring Platte County men and women who participated in World War I 100 years ago are now on display at the Glendo Museum/Library, where they are to be exhibited until September.
In the past year the photos — gathered by Platte County Historical Society members, notably Elvira Call — have been displayed in Wheatland, Chugwater, Guernsey, Hartville and now Glendo. The display will next be used in Armistice Day celebrations on Nov. 11.
The photograph of Sgt. John B. Prince, of Glendo, was recently added to the display. American Legion Post 15 in Glendo was named in his honor following his death in France on Oct. 1, 1918.
The exhibit is set up in the windows of the Glendo Museum/Library and can be viewed from outside anytime. To view other exhibits at the museum, open hours are 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, 2-5 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
