DOUGLAS – The Wheatland High School golf team traveled to Douglas last week to compete against Douglas, Natrona, Cheyenne South, Cheyenne Central, Laramie, Kelly Walsh, Rawlins and Torrington.
The girls team was only five points away from overtaking Laramie, but came in fifth place overall. Jaydon Heimsoth shot an impressive game and took fifth place individually. Kaitlyn Vigil placed 14th and Kaylynn Heimsoth placed 23rd.
The boys team were not able to have a team score as they did not have a full roster. Individually, the highest placing golfer was senior Jacob Burns at 19th place and Michael Bush placed just after Burns.
Their next match will be held this week in Buffalo. Hopefully, both teams will have enough players to have a team score.
