Wheatland man faces meth charge

WHEATLAND — A Wheatland man has been charged with conspiring to deliver methamphetamine, according to 8th Judicial District Court documents.
Jason Lee Hough, of Wheatland, pleaded not guilty to the charge at his July 6 arraignment in District Court.

A criminal affidavit for probable cause  filed May 16 by Wheatland Police Chief Randy Chesser reports police arrested Hough on April 12 for allegedly breaking into a coin-operated machine.
In listening to Hough’s phone calls while he was in jail, law enforcement reportedly heard Hough say he left some “sh—” at his brother’s residence. Hough allegedly asked his mother to take the “sh—” to someone who had agreed to pay $500 for it, according to the complaint, and Hough reportedly was afraid his sister-in-law had used it already because she was a “fiend.”
The criminal affidavit for probalble cause states Chesser went to Hough’s brother’s residence April 20. Hough’s brother said he knew nothing, but Hough’s sister-in-law reportedly told Chesser that Hough wanted her to deliver cigarette packs to another person.
This other person alleged she gave Hough $270 for meth to sell to make her rent, according to the criminal affidavit for probalble cause.
