Wheatland Cross Country Meet features eight teams

WHEATLAND – In their only home race of the year, the Bulldogs hosted the Wheatland Cross Country Meet at Lewis Park, Sept. 30. Teams that participated in the Wheatland races were: Burns/Pine Bluffs, Cheyenne South, Douglas, Ft. Washakie, Rawlins, Rock River, Saratoga/Encampment and Wheatland.

For the second straight week, the boys’ and girls’ junior high teams both placed second overall. The girls placed four runners in the top 10 while the boys had two runners place in the top 10.

The high school teams did not have team times to qualify, but the girls team placed three runners in the top 25 and the boys had two runners in the top 25.

The volunteers were amazing according to head coach Colt Goff to make the meet successful. “I would love to thank everyone that helped,” he said.

The teams will run at Cheyenne East this Friday at 11 a.m. as their last regular race of the season. The Conference races will be run in Torrington at 3 p.m. Oct. 13.
