The Viking boys closed out the regular season schedule with losses to Hanna-Elk Mountain and Rock River this past weekend. On Friday, the Vikings honored their senior players but weren’t able to get the win as Hanna-Elk Mountain claimed a 65-47 win.

Vikings drop final two of regular season

GUERNSEY — The Viking boys closed out the regular season schedule with losses to Hanna-Elk Mountain and Rock River this past weekend. On Friday, the Vikings honored their senior players but weren’t able to get the win as Hanna-Elk Mountain claimed a 65-47 win.
The Vikes did put two players in double figures as sophomore guard Alex Delgado canned 13 points and had one rebound, three assists and two steals.
Freshman guard Justin Malcom put in 11 points and had a pair of rebounds and a steal.
Senior forward put in eight points and had seven rebounds and a steal. Senior forward Tate Stoneking finished with five points, two rebounds and an assist.

Sophomore guard Ryan Harms had four points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Sophomore guard Xavier Smith hit a three pointer, making the Vikes’ final shot of the game.
Senior forward Garret Oneyear had a bucket and pulled down four rebounds and dished out one assist.
Junior Austin Albrecht hit a free-throw and had six rebounds and three assists.
As a team, the Vikes hit 4-of-16 three-point shots, 15-of-36 two-point shots and hit five of 13 free-throws. They took down 24 rebounds (nine offensive), had 10 assists and five steals. They committed 21 turnovers and 27 fouls.
The Vikings take on Kaycee in Douglas in their first-round game of the 1-A regional tournament. That game tips off at 5:30 p.m. Thursday evening. The winner of that game will advance to play the winner of the Rock River/Midwest game on Friday at 8:30 p.m. The losers of those games will play in a win-or-go-home matchup on Friday at 1:30 p.m. The top four teams from the 1-A East will move on to the state tournament the following weekend in Casper.
