Turn to Jesus!

Crisis hits all of us suddenly at times. It hits the believer and the nonbeliever alike. The huge difference is that one has a mighty God to lean on. The other has no such support. When we become a believer or child of God, we have a manual for success (the Bible) full of promises. This manual shows us the path that leads us through the darkness! A crisis is a dark place, but Jesus is the light in the darkness to show us the way.

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." (John 8:12) Notice, it says follow Him, not follow others or ourselves. Jesus will guide us through anything we face, and not somehow but triumphantly!

People will always have a lot to say in a crisis situation, but like my husband always says, people are people, they are just people, and they will always be JUST people. People-pleasing is not the answer. It’s actually putting others before God. Following Jesus and getting into His Word will show us how to be victorious and not a victim in overwhelming situations. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1)

When we read and apply the Word of God, we will remember who He is. God is with us and will protect us. The world is full of distractions; it is easy to get distracted when we face pressure or the uncertainty of what tomorrow might hold. Non-believers just have the help of worldly opinions and ways, but we have Jesus and His promises. Let’s focus on Him, trusting and believing He is holding our hand through the storm!
