Shawna Reichert nominated for Women of Influence honor

Shawna Reichert is the Platte County Chamber of Commerce executive director and recently was nominated by Wyoming Business Report for their Women of Influence honors.

WHEATLAND – In the last three years, the Platte County Chamber of Commerce executive director, Shawna Reichert has seemingly been in multiple places at once.

One of the patrons at the recent Oktoberfest, sponsored by the Platte County Chamber of Commerce commented that she was at every event in Platte County, which is pretty much all the time. She has done an amazing job for our county, and her tireless work has many times gone unnoticed.

Until now.

The Hospitality, Travel & Tourism tab of the Wyoming Business Report recently posted the three statewide nominees for a very special award.

From the Wyoming Business Report,  posting their Women of Influence honors, they published, “Shawna Reichert has proven to be a vital asset to Platte County as the Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Lodging Tax and Tourism Board Secretary, Guernsey Economic Development member and Platte County District 2 School Board Vice Chairman. Her motto of 5 towns 1 community has helped Platte County thrive.”

Although she didn’t take the top honor, she was in the top three of all business women in Wyoming.

Working many events with her right beside her is her better half, Troy Reichert who is no stranger to hard work and multiple awards including receiving awards. In 2018 Reichert was a finalist for the 2018 Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence and in 2019 he won the medal of honor excellence in character education award from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.

Though he pushes aside his own accomplishments, he said of his wife, “To be  nominated for this award after only three years of Chamber experience shows that people see her commitment and hard work toward helping businesses throughout Platte County and they appreciate it. To grow a chamber during the Covid pandemic is a huge accomplishment.”

From all of Platte County businesses and community members, congratulations Shawna Reichert.
