Memorial services for Ruth Huckfeldt, 91, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15  at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Reverend Scott Firminhac officiating. Burial with her husband will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Ruth died Aug. 7 at Goshen Healthcare Community and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to either Our Savior Lutheran Church in Torrington or Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Dubois, Wyoming. Ruth was born March 27, 1928 in Wheatland the daughter of John and Leah (Kniss) Stamm. She grew up and received her education in Wheatland and Veteran, graduating high school in Wheatland. She married Bernie Huckfeldt on Oct. 26, 1950 and they moved to Torringtong and she worked as the bookkeeper for the Huckfeldt Trucking Company. They sold the business to their son in 1986. They moved to Dubois where they owned and operated the Dubois Motel and later the Sawmill Lodge.They then purchased a house on Union Pass where they enjoyed fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. Later they moved back to Dubois and wintered in Bullhead City, Ariz. In 2014 the couple moved into the Goshen Healthcare Community. Bernie died March 13, 2016.

Ruth is survived by a son Dennis (Cindi) Huckfeldt and a daughter Sandra (Blair Newman) Huckfeldt all of Torrington, Wyoming; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bernie; and two brothers Arthur Stamm and Byron Stamm. “Bruce” has been resting for three years so she could be with Bernie.
