Robert “Bob” Gilbert, of Wheatland, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Oct. 31 at the age of 66.
Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gloria Gilbert; his daughter, Roxann Shook and her husband Kyle; and his son, Zac.  
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Gilbert; his mother, Orpha Gilbert; and his brother, Frank Edward Gilbert.
Bob was born in Wheatland, on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1953 to Frank and Orpha Gilbert. He graduated from Wheatland High School in 1972. On June 1, 1972, he married Gloria, his high school sweetheart. He welcomed his daughter in 1981, and his son a year later.  He was a devoted family man who always said “I love you”.  
After high school Bob spent six years with the Army National Guard. He was also a volunteer fire fighter for many years, and an EMT.  He had many careers during his lifetime, but he especially loved working on farms and ranches.  He retired from the Crook County Weed and Pest in 2015. However, he continued to work in agriculture until his death.
Bob was a lifelong hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors.  He also enjoyed a good cup of coffee, books, and playing pinochle. He never failed to lend a hand to a friend in need.  He was treasured and loved by many.
