Republicans hold Rally at Agriplex

Posted

WHEATLAND - Wheatland hosted a Republican Rally to highlight several elected, and candidate incumbent individuals with the main goal of focusing on the upcoming election, specifically House District #4.

The evening kicked off with a prayer led by, Wyoming Republican Party Committeeman, Corey Steinmetz. Committeeman Steinmetz also shared a verse out of Psalms 37 verse 23; after which he handed the mic over to his wife, State Senator Sheri Steinmetz.

Senator Steinmetz introduced State Treasurer, Curt Meier who led the pledge and expressed his hope that Jeremy Haroldson, someone who “honors the United States Constitution”, would once again be elected to represent House District. #4.

After the pledge Senator Steinmetz then introduced Vice Chair of the Republican Party, David Holland. Holland stressed the importance of voting for individuals who would uphold the United States Constitution as well as the Wyoming Constitution.

Holland also brought up that the Republican Party is an inclusive party, He said “We want you! We want people who identify with our platform to join us, and be a part of us.” He went on to express that everyone in this party does not have to agree 100% on everything, He quoted something similar to General Patton Jr in saying, “If we are all thinking the same thing, then someone isn’t thinking.”  Holland continued by voicing, as a Republican candidate, they don’t expect to see 100% voters, the problem is, they are seeing 10% and even 0% “Republican” representative voters.

Holland finished his portion of the night by saying, “Have a good time, raise a little money, and send Jeremy back to the legislature!”

Senator Steinmetz returned to the stage and elaborated on what the Vice Chairman had brought up about the legislature and some of the bills that got stuck in the drawer for the State Speaker of House; further emphasizing the importance of the men and woman we elect to represent us. There were three bills that passed in the state senate just to get stuck in the House Speaker’s drawer this last year during legislation the first being a bill that would band critical race theory being taught in our schools, the second was a bill that would prevent males being able to participate in women’s sports, and thirdly a bill banning chemical abortions. Steinmetz went onto comment on the failure of these bills, saying: “that is a travesty and that is what we are here to fix tonight”. She wrapped up her thoughts by emphasizing once again the importance of sending conservative republicans to Cheyenne.

On that thought Senator Steinmetz introduced David Russel, Platte County Sheriff primary elect to the stage. David Russel briefly thanked those putting on the rally and proceeded to tell the crowd a little bit about himself, and the platform in which he is running on.  He brought up the importance of protecting our constitutional rights, especially our Second Amendment rights; Russel also expressed the importance of protecting our schools and better equipping our officers to react to active shooter situations. Russel ended by thanking everyone for their support and highlighted his intentions to have an open office for questions, concerns, and comments just like former Sheriff Harris has had for the last eight years. The microphone once again with Senator Steinmetz, she welcomed to the stage Representative Chuck Grey, Secretary of State Elect. Grey thanked Platte County for being his best county for primary votes; he continued on by recounting how gradually the house is changing to a conservative majority. Grey went onto to say that being a nice person should not be the only qualifier for our votes, we need people who can get things done. Grey reiterated what Senator Steinmetz had said about the three bills that got stuck in legislature, he expressed how close things are to being able to elect a Conservative Speaker in the House, he stated that it could very well come down to one vote that being how close this race is. Representative Grey once again turned his focus to Representative Haroldson, expressing how rock solid he has been from the start. He complimented his ability to take something and run with it. Grey closed with saying “it is pivotal that Jeremy Haroldson is reelected to represent Platte County.”

Next to the stage after a brief introduction was US congresswoman-elect for the Republican Party, Harriet Hageman. Hageman started off by recounting her childhood in the Guernsey school system, and expressing her joy to be able to see some of the people she went to school with in your younger years, a statement that ensures and encourages the fact that we, as Wyoming, have found someone to represent us whose blood sweat and tears has fallen on Wyoming soil.

Hageman continued on by commending Haroldson for stepping up and taking the bull by the horns and fighting a battle that is doubtlessly one of the most important things we will fight in our lifetimes. Hageman then went onto express the stronghold of power that the federal government holds, a major reason she decided to run on behalf of Wyoming. She challenged us as the people to keep those that represent us accountable, after all they are nothing but public servants. She emphasized that those back in Washington know very little about Wyoming, the energy we produce, the industries we provide, they don’t know about what we do here. She expressed how proud she was to come from a state that puts food on the table, a roof over your head, and gas in your car. Hageman also brought up things we are seeing in our country that we had never imagined we would see; she quoted Voltaire when he said “Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.” She brought up that one of the things she intends to do is bring back the power to the states, where it belongs. She closed with the remark “I am so excited to be here today with Jeremy, and all the other people in this room, as I said I’m glad to be home; and I am so excited that Jeremy is going to be reelected on Nov. 8.”

Following Hageman’s speech Senator Steinmetz took the stage once more to introduce Haroldson and commended Haroldson on being unshakable, and unmovable, and doing what needs to be done. Steinmetz highlighted Haroldson’s success on getting a bill passed his first year.

Representative Haroldson started by thanking those that supported him, trusted him, sent him down to Cheyenne and all those who “took a chance on a kid”. Jeremy also honored his parents for helping to establish his views and morals. Haroldson proceeded to plead the importance of each of us standing up for liberty, for our kids and our grandkids. Haroldson brought up the freedoms we have known for years are under attack, the freedoms our founding fathers, patriots, soldiers, and fellow Americans have fought for; freedoms he wants his children to experience. “The people have to stand up and tell the government, No,” he said.

Haroldson brought up that on a weekly basis he is engaged with a portion of the people he is privileged to represent, and he has those people to answer to every week, he charges us to hold him accountable as our representation. Haroldson then went into several important topics, he established his belief that in many ways the public-school system needs reformed, he expressed his goals to keep government from our land, to protect our ground water, restore our economic stability as a State, help fix election flaws, ban cross over voting, stop the use of unmanned ballet drop boxes, protect our Second Amendment rights. Haroldson ended his speech by quoting Proverbs 29:2, ‘When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice, but when wicked men rule the people grumble.’ He then elaborated on what it means to be righteous, to be honest, honoring, have integrity and morals.

He then shared a quote by Maximilien de Robespierre, stating, “The secret of freedom lies in educating the people, whereas the secret of tyranny is in keeping them ignorant.”

He encouraged each person to educate themselves, especially before casting votes Nov. 8.
