UNAPPROVED RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS FOR THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE

TOWN OF WHEATLAND A special meeting of the Council for the Town of Wheatland, Platte County, and State of Wyoming was held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 pursuant to the law.  
Mayor Graves called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The following were present at roll call: Councilman Madsen, Kaufman, Allison and Montoya. Clerk/Treasurer Candy Wright was also present.  Councilman Madsen motioned, seconded by Councilman Montoya, to accept the agenda as presented.  Motion passed 4-0. Councilman Montoya motioned, seconded by Councilman Kaufman, to approve Ordinance 839 on third and final reading as amended.  Motion passed 4-0. ORDINANCE No. 839 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PARTS OF CHAPTER 6.05 “ANIMALS & FOWL” OF THE WHEATLAND TOWN CODE TO INCLUDE CATS AND A PORTION OF SECTION 6.05.190 TITLED “COMMUNITY CAT CONTROL” IS REPEALED AND AMENDED BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN OF WHEATLAND, WYOMING: That parts of Chapter 6.05  of the Wheatland Town Code are hereby amended  as follows: In section 6.05.010 anywhere the term dog is set out it should now read “dog or cat”.  In sections 6.05.090, 6.05.100, 6.05.110, 6.05.120, 6.05.150, 6.05.160, and 6.06.170 anywhere the word dog or dogs appears it should now read “dog(s) or cat(s)”.  3.  Added to section 6.05.110 will be “Highly visible tattoo markings on cats will be accepted.” IT IS FURTHER ORDAINED THAT SUB SECTIONS (a), (b) & (c) of Section 6.05.190   are hereby repealed. IT IS FURTHER ORDAINED THAT SUB-SECTION (d) of Section 6.05.190 is hereby amended to read as follows: (d) It shall be unlawful to feed feral cats and dogs on public or private property without the permission of the property owner.  Passed and approved this 9th day of January 2023 on first reading.  Passed and approved this 13th day of February 2023 on second reading.  Passed and approved this 3rd day of March 2023 on third and final reading.
