UNAPPROVED RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS FOR THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE TOWN OF WHEATLAND A special meeting of the Council for the Town of Wheatland, Platte County, and State of Wyoming was held on Monday, April 18, 2022 pursuant to the law. Mayor Pro-Tem Madsen called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. The following were present at roll call: Councilmen Britz, Montoya, and Race. Clerk/Treasurer Candy Wright was also present.
Councilman Montoya motioned, seconded by Councilman Britz, to accept the agenda as presented. Motion passed 3-0. Councilman Race motioned, seconded by Councilman Montoya, to adjourn into Executive Session at 4:02 p.m. pursuant to W.S.,S. 16-4-405(a)(iii) to discuss matters concerning litigation. Motion passed 3-0. Council adjourned out of Executive Session at 5:25 p.m. Councilman Britz motioned, seconded by Councilman Montoya, to engage with attorneys Rex Johnson and Brian Artery of Sherard, Sherard, Artery & Johnson Law for the purpose of defending the Town from the complaint filed by Paul Reed Construction. Bringing in third party defendants including Croell and T-O Engineers is contingent upon the recommendation of the attorneys. Motion passed 3-0.
