NOTICE OF PROPOSED ALTERATIONS TO ELECTION DISTRICT & VOTING PRECINCT BOUNDARIES & THE DESIGNATION OF POLLING PLACES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to Wyoming State Statute §22-7-102(a), that the Board of Platte County Commissioners will consider changes to election district and voting precinct boundaries at their regular meeting held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 10:00 AM. It has been recommended by the Platte County Clerk, that Platte County be divided into four (4) election districts and eight (8) voting precincts. This meeting will be held at the Coleman Building (718 9th Street, Wheatland). 

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN pursuant to Wyoming State Statute §22-12-101(b), that the Platte County Clerk intends to designate polling places at the same County Commissioner meeting on May 3, 2022 at 10:00 AM, or as soon thereafter. Again, this meeting will be held at the Coleman Building (718 9th Street, Wheatland).

NOTICE IS FINALLY GIVEN that the proposed election districts, voting precincts and polling locations are described as follows:

Election District #1 – “Wheatland” 

Proposed Polling Place: Platte County Agriplex (4-H Building) located at 59 Antelope Gap Road, Wheatland. This would be a change in polling place as it was not used during the 2020 election.

Voting Precinct 1-1 – An area outside of the municipal boundary of Wheatland which follows the boundaries of Rural Fire District 1F. This proposed precinct includes portions of the existing 1-6 (Wheatland Rural), 12-1 (Rock Lake) and 20-1 (Sybille Creek) precincts.

Voting Precinct 1-2 – An area which follows the boundaries of the Rural Fire District 2F, but does not include the Glendo area. The northern boundary of this precinct would be Fish Creek Road. This proposed precinct includes portions of the existing 12-1 (Rock Lake) and 20-1 (Sybille Creek) precincts.

Voting Precinct 1-3 – An area comprised entirely of the town of Wheatland. This proposed precinct is a consolidation of the existing 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 and 1-4 precincts. 

Voting Precinct 1-6 – An area which follows the boundaries of the Antelope Gap Fire District. This proposed precinct includes portions of the existing 1-6 (Wheatland Rural) and 9-1 (Slater) precincts. 

Election District #2 – “Guernsey”

Proposed Polling Place: Guernsey VFW located at 42 S. Idaho St., Guernsey.

Voting Precinct 2-1 – An area comprised entirely of the town of Guernsey. This proposed precinct includes a portion of the existing 2-1 (Guernsey) precinct.

Voting Precinct 2-2 – An area outside of the municipal boundary of Guernsey, which consolodates the existing 3-1 (Hartville) and remaining portions of the existing 2-1 (Guernsey) precincts. 

Election District #3 – “Glendo” The precincts in this area are proposed to vote at Glendo Town Hall and is proposed to contain the following voting precincts: 

Proposed Polling Place: Glendo Town Hall located at 114 South Yellowstone Highway, Glendo.

Voting Precinct 3-1 –An area that follows the Rural Fire District 2F boundary located north of Fish Creek Road and also includes the town of Glendo. This proposed voting precinct is a consolidation of the the existing 6-1 (Glendo West) and 6-2 (Glendo East) precincts.

Election District #4 – “Chugwater” The precincts in this area are proposed to vote at the Chugwater Community Center and is proposed to contain the following voting precincts:

Proposed Polling Place: Chugwater Communty Center located at 311 2nd Street in Chugwater.

Voting Precinct 4-1 – An area which follows the boundaries of the Chugwater Fire Protection District, including the town of Chugwater. This proposed precinct includes portions of the existing 10-1 (Chugwater) and 9-1 (Slater) precincts.
