Resolution #2022-01: Mrs. Mantle motioned, seconded by Mr. Jolovich, to approve Resolution #2022-01 regarding Platte County’s investment policy for 2022. The motion carried. Resolution #2022-02: Mr. Jolovich motioned, seconded by Mrs. Mantle, to approve Resolution #2022-02 to authorize payroll distribution via direct deposit for 2022. The motion carried. County Engineer Appointment: Mr. Jolovich motioned, seconded by Mrs. Mantle, to re-appoint Hal Hutchinson as Platte County engineer for calendar year 2022. The motion carried. Designation of County Newspaper: Mrs. Mantle motioned, seconded by Mr. Jolovich, to designate the Platte County Record-Times as the official county newspaper for 2022. The motion carried. Liquor Permit: Mr. Jolovich motioned, seconded by Mrs. Mantle, to approve an out-of-jurisdiction liquor permit as presented. The motion carried. Building Certificate: Planner Clark presented a building certificate from Jared Klier for approval. Tax Cancellations: County Assessor Danette Eppel presented two tax cancellations for approval. Mr. Jolovich motioned, seconded by Mrs. Mantle, to approve a tax cancellation for tax year 2021 for Juan & Joni Reyes in the sum of $62.48. The motion carried. Mrs. Mantle motioned, seconded by Mr. Jolovich, to approve a tax cancellation for tax year 2021 for Daylene Martin in the sum of $1,435.10. The motion carried. Road & Bridge: Superintendent Beal Angle informed the Commissioners that his department was preparing for an impending snowstorm. Maintenance Department: Jim DeWitt, Maintenance Supervisor, provided updates to the Commissioners. Mr. DeWitt spoke about the two trees at the Courthouse that were secured due to high winds, which caused concerns that the two trees would fall. If the trees were to fall, they would fall on a county structure, which would cause significant damage and potentially injure employees. Mr. DeWitt received quotes to remove the trees and the Commissioners discussed the possibility of shoring the trees for the remainder of the year. The Commissioners opted to ask a local contractor to remove the trees as soon as possible to ensure they do not fall on county structures. The board also discussed the open maintenance position. Clerk Ervin will advertise the position as open and the employee will be directly under the maintenance department. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at approximately 11:15 A.M.
