Approved Record of the August 18, 2020 Proceedings of the Platte County Commissioners in Wheatland, WY – The regular meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was called to order at 9:00 A.M. with the following present: Sandy Kontour, Commission Chairman; Steve Shockley, Commissioner; Ian Jolovich, Commissioner joined the meeting via phone call; and Malcolm Ervin, County Clerk. Resolution #2020-20: Mr. Jolovich motioned, seconded by Mr. Shockley, to approve Resolution #2020-20 to amend the FY21 budget. The motion carried. The full resolution is available online at www.plattecountywyoming.com or in the Office of the County Clerk. 2020 Mill Levies: Mr. Shockley motioned, seconded by Mr. Jolovich, to certify the updated mill levies as presented for 2020. The motion carried. Liquor Permit Applications: Mr. Shockley motioned seconded by Mr. Jolovich, to approve two 24-hour alcoholic beverage sales permits outside of Platte County’s liquor licensing jurisdiction. The motion carried. MOU: Mr. Shockley motioned, seconded by Mr. Jolovich, to approve an MOU between Platte County and the Wyoming Department of Revenue as presented. The motion carried. Road & Bridge: Superintendent Beal Angle spoke to the Commissioners about different surface treatment options for the County’s gravel and dirt roads. The Commissioners were willing to test applications to see if the cost of the material reduced maintenance required on the roads and improved dust control. Mr. Angle said he would test the material on Whalen Canyon Road. Sheriff Harris: Sheriff Harris spoke about purchasing K9 units for the Sheriff’s Office and the need to send three deputies out of state to receive training. Sheriff Harris has purchased three K9s, which are trained to detect narcotics, track individuals, and bite dangerous suspects. The K9s will be owned by the County. Mr. Shockley motioned, seconded by Mr. Jolovich, to approve three out of state travel requests as presented. The motion carried. Liquor License – Public Hearing: A public hearing was called to order at approximately 9:30 AM to consider a liquor license application. Arena BBQ applied for a county malt beverage permit to be able to serve malt beverages at their venue located at 210 Sybille Creek Road, Wheatland. Myrle and Birgit Ingle, owners of Arena BBQ, requested a county malt beverage permit so they may serve malt beverages at their BBQ. Mr. Shockley motioned, seconded by Mr. Jolovich, to approve the issuance of a county special malt beverage permit to Arena BBQ. The motion carried.
