Unapproved Record of the June 2, 2020 Proceedings of the Platte County Commissioners in Wheatland, WY –  A Special Meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was called to order at 5:00 P.M.. The meeting was held via Zoom Video Conferencing. The purpose of the meeting was to connect with each Platte County Department Heads and Elected Officials to obtain any updates they may have. The elected officials present were: Sandy Kontour, Commission Chairman; Steve Shockley, Commissioner; Ian Jolovich, Commissioner; Cary Shubert, Deputy County Clerk; Kristi Rietz, County Treasurer; and Mona McAuley, Clerk of District Court. Department heads present were: Nicole Sticka, Public Health; Beal Angle, Road & Bridge; Terry Stevenson, Emergency Management and Stacy Buchholz, Ag. Extension. Members of the public present were: Merlin Hitt, Platte County Economic Development. Chairman Kontour asked for updates from all Department Heads. Ms. Sticka said Public Health had a full vaccine day today. The CDC is planning to provide flu vaccines for the United States but Ms. Sticka is hesitant to participate due to potential negative impacts to County revenue. Public Health is working on getting things back to regular as much as possible. Mr. Stevenson spoke about an issue in Dispatch with Caller ID failing over the weekend and the issue was followed up to have been with Century Link and is now working again. Mr. Stevenson also stated he has been in contact with Aaron Clark regarding fire bans and wants to look at getting a fire ban after the 4th of July weekend. Mr. Stevenson also mentioned that Camp Guernsey has been directly affected and they are screening everyone that goes on campus for COVID-19. Chairman Kontour asked whether any offices had updates, or changes, from the previous weeks. No departments offered any updates. Chairman Kontour advised everyone to be aware of possible protesters in the area throughout the week. The best place for the public to access information about how COVID-19 impacts Platte County is the County’s website, www.plattecountywyoming.com. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at approximately 5:45 P.M.
