WHEATLAND - The Platte County Historical Society will host a program featuring author and historian, Rodger McDaniel who will talk about his latest book titled “Profiles in Courage: Standing Against the Wind,” on Tuesday, March 28. The free program will begin at 7 p.m. at the Platte County Public Library. Everyone is welcome.

Rodger graduated from the University of Wyoming with a law degree, and also holds a Master of Divinity Degree from the Iliff School of Theology. He served 10 years in the Wyoming State Legislature, practiced law for 25 years, and today is a pastor at Highlands Presbyterian Church in Cheyenne.  His program will talk about the most admirable of human virtues – courage and grace under pressure.  He said, “These are the stories of the pressures experienced by nine Wyoming citizens and three groups of citizens, the Black 14, the people of the Wind River Indian Reservation, and the internees of Heart Mountains.”  He added, “It’s about the grace with which these people endured the risks to their careers, the unpopularity of their courses, the defamation of their characters, and more.”  Roger is an award-winning author of four books, including biographies of two US Senators Lester Hunt and Gale McGee.  His work has been recognized by the Wyoming Historical Society, and has garnered numerous awards.
