Paul Allen Kennedy

A celebration of life for Paul Allen Kennedy, 67, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Wheatland with Father Tom Kadera and Deacon Terry Archbold officiating.
Paul Kennedy entered into heaven on Wednesday, Nov. 4 unexpectedly at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland. Paul was better known to the community as “Big Hoss”. He was a strong man with a big heart. His favorite saying was, “I can afford it”.
Paul was born on Saturday, April 4, 1953 in Sidney, Neb., the son of William Eugene and Joyce E. (Sedman) Kennedy. He attended Cozy Hallow School on the ranch in Wyoming. Through the years Paul was active with his brothers showing lambs in the Sky Liners 4-H Club. He had a love for animals, always having a dog wherever he went, taking care of horses, and never missing out on a chance to work cattle.  Paul was always active with any and all ranch work, whether it was stacking bales, sacking feed, building fence, or simply waiting to open a gate, he was always there and never complained.  He enjoyed the warm weather that summer brought, and was usually dressed in his coveralls and a scotch cap when it turned the least bit chilly.  Paul loved music, there was never a Lawrence Welk show that he missed. You could always hear him in the evenings listening and conducting to one of the many CD’s in his collection.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Kennedy; brothers, Craig (Tammy) Kennedy and Kelly (Alexa) Kennedy.
A memorial to the Shiners Hospitals for Children, Processing Center, P.O. Box 863765, Orlando, FL, 32886 would be appreciated by the family.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.gormanfh.com
