Patricia Irene Spiker, 82 passed away on Saturday April 18 at her home in Wheatland, Wyoming. Patricia was born Sunday, Oct. 31, 1937 in Denver, Colorado to Theodore Raymond and Helen Evelyn (Nelson) Bailey. She was reared and educated in Denver, graduating from East High School of Denver, Colo. on June 10, 1955. She married at the age of 17 to Richard Spiker, on May 27, 1955, and to this union they had five boys.
She stayed home and chased her boys around raising them to be honest, hardworking-boys into men. She always told you what she thought; everyone always knew where they stood. If you asked her opinion, you had better sit down. No one ever messed with Pat’s family. She turned into mamma ‘BEAR’ when protecting her family. She loved being a wife, mom, friend, and grandmother. She enjoyed camping with her family and was the resident doctor for the five RAMBUNCTIOUS boys and her adult “boy.” She will be cherished and missed by many.
Patty’s fiery and spunky personality will live through her survivors including her sons, Bruce (Teresa) Spiker of Wheatland, Bryon Spiker of Wheatland, Brett (Amy) Spiker of Laramie, Brandon (Kim) Spiker of Gilbert, Arizona; brother-in-Law, Quint Zuhlke of Bull Head, Arizona; nine grandkids, Zack Furher of Casper, Stevie Spence of Denver, Colorado, Kylea Spiker of Austin, Texas, Ryan Spiker of Pocatello, Idaho, Esmeralda Grange, Jessica Lopez, and Patsy Spiker all of Wheatland, and Bradley and Rhegyn Spiker of Gilbert, Arizona; and six great grandkids; Ariel and Zack Furher of Los Angeles, Calif., Miles Stauffer and Aurelia Jane Spence of Denver, Eddie Olson and Lily Grange of Wheatland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Spiker on Aug. 27, 2007 and a son, Bradley Steven Spiker on May 25, 1988.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
